Throughout the program, you will learn to administer massage, hydrotherapy, exercise and other related therapies, conduct range-of-motion and muscle tests, treat soft tissues and joints through soft tissue manipulation, explain treatment procedures, risks and benefits to clients, suggest home care instructions, assess client progress and maintain treatment records. You will study anatomy, pathophysiology, hydrotherapy, massage techniques, kinesiology, nutrition and more. You will also gain a strong understanding of health care terminology, pharmacology, ethics, research basics and related regulations.
To successfully complete this program, students will be required to earn a minimum grade of 70% in all theory and practical courses, a minimum grade of 70% in each of the final theory and practical examinations, and complete 330 hours of faculty-supervised direct massage therapy to the public.
