Our Addictions and Mental Health diploma program prepares you for employment in a wide range of workplace environments, including group homes, correctional facilities, young offender facilities, emergency shelters and mental health centres.
Our program develops your understanding of key aspects of addictions and mental health work to prepare you for the duties, challenges and responsibilities you will encounter as a worker in this field. You will study abnormal psychology, pharmacology, relapse prevention, secondary traumatic stress and the fundamentals of addiction. You will also gain crucial skills in group facilitation, communication strategies, case management and interviewing techniques.
