Our Medical Laboratory Assistant/Technician diploma program combines theory, practical skills and an intensive field-related practicum to prepare you for a career path as a vital and valued member of any medical laboratory team. In just one year, you’ll be ready to explore employment opportunities in hospitals, clinics, research facilities and more.

You will learn to prep patients for cardiac studies, collect patient specimens, set up ECG’s, conduct routine medical laboratory tests, set up, clean and maintain equipment, log patient samples and performing quality assurance. You will gain a strong knowledge of ECG fundamentals anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, laboratory safety, microbiology and more. An intensive, 225-hour work placement gives you the opportunity to put your skills and training into practice, giving you the confidence, insight and experience you need to succeed in the future.
